Stephanie LaBarge, LCSW
Clinical Social Worker
Stephanie LaBarge is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides a warm, collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences at a pace that feels right for them. She believes therapy is most effective when people feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard, and she regularly invites feedback so sessions remain meaningful and responsive to each client’s needs.
Stephanie works with teens, young adults, adults, and seniors navigating anxiety, depression, complex and attachment trauma, dissociation, and challenges related to addictive behaviors. She integrates somatic and parts-based work to help clients reconnect with themselves, understand patterns shaped by past experiences, and move toward lasting healing.
Her primary therapeutic approach is Internal Family Systems (IFS), complemented by Motivational Interviewing and body-centered (“bottom-up”) strategies that support emotional regulation and nervous system awareness. Clients often describe sessions as supportive, grounded, and thoughtfully paced — balancing insight with practical tools for everyday life.
Stephanie holds a Master of Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from SUNY Geneseo. She has several years of experience in community mental health and outpatient care, including crisis-based work in emergency and CPEP settings. She has completed advanced training for treating trauma and has been practicing at The Counseling Place since 2022. She primarily offers in-person sessions, with telehealth available as needed.
Outside of her clinical work, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family, animals, horseback riding, hiking, and music. She considers it an honor to share in the deeply personal work of helping others feel seen and understood.
Stephanie welcomes the opportunity to support clients as they take meaningful steps toward healing and growth.
