Nancy Longabaugh, LCSW-R

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Nancy Longabaugh is a licensed clinical social worker with over three decades of experience providing compassionate, thoughtful mental health care. Her therapy style is warm, interactive, and grounded in the belief that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth and healing.

Nancy brings a steady, calming presence to her work and values creating a space where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood. She believes that therapy is most effective when trust and rapport are established, allowing clients to explore challenges openly and work toward positive change at their own pace.

With more than 32 years of outpatient mental health experience, Nancy draws on both her professional training and life experience to support individuals through a wide range of emotional and relational concerns. She takes a holistic view of healing, recognizing the important connection between physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. For clients who are open to it, Nancy is comfortable thoughtfully integrating Christian faith into the counseling process as a source of strength, meaning, and support.

Nancy earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Buffalo in 1993 and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with “R” privilege (LCSW-R). She has been practicing at The Counseling Place since 2008.

Outside of her professional work, Nancy has been married for over 35 years and is a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend—roles she considers some of her greatest teachers. She and her husband, who is a pastor, have four grown children, two of whom were adopted. Nancy enjoys perennial gardening, birdwatching, spending time with family, and playing music.
